Pressure Washer Sewer Jetter
A sewer-jetter kit is not universal just because it connects to a pressure washer. Match the machine output, jetter hose and the nozzle as one system, then account for pipe geometry, pressure loss and safety boundaries.
A sewer-jetter kit is a hose + nozzle + machine system
The nozzle must convert the pressure washer's actual GPM and working PSI into the intended jet pattern while the hose remains flexible enough for the drain and rated for the full pressure. A “universal 100-ft kit” label does not establish that match.

How to size the sewer nozzle from GPM and PSI
General Pump states that its sewer-jet nozzles are sized to match the flow and pressure specifications of the equipment. The same total nozzle-number relationship used for spray tips is therefore a useful starting point. For example, 4.0 GPM at 4000 PSI corresponds to total nozzle size #4.0; 3.0 GPM at 3000 PSI is approximately #3.46.
Use the Pressure Washer Nozzle Calculator to determine the total size class, then select a sewer nozzle whose manufacturer lists that size and whose hose connection matches. Do not take a four-jet nozzle and divide the calculated nozzle number by four: the forward and rear jet orifices can be distributed differently by the manufacturer.
Penetrator, flusher and rotating nozzle patterns
Penetrator
General Pump's penetrator examples use a forward jet to attack blockage plus rear-facing jets that provide thrust and move debris. This can be useful when a blockage needs a direct forward stream.
Flusher
Flusher examples use rear-facing jets without a forward jet. General Pump describes them as expelling loose debris while the rear jets advance the hose through the pipe.
Rotating sewer nozzle
A rotating nozzle sweeps the pipe wall differently. It still has a published total nozzle size, pressure limit and inlet thread that must match the system.
Jetter hose length, diameter and pressure loss
Long, small-diameter jetter hose adds restriction, so the pressure available at the nozzle can be lower than pump outlet pressure. Do not choose a nozzle solely from the machine's marketing PSI if the actual nozzle pressure is unknown. A pressure gauge and manufacturer jetter guidance are more useful for demanding setups.
Pressure-Pro currently publishes 1/4-inch jetter hose rated to 4400 PSI in 50-, 100- and 150-foot lengths for its Pro-Jet series. The smaller hose is intended for navigating drains; ordinary 3/8-inch pressure-washer hose is not automatically a substitute just because it has an adequate pressure rating.
Drain and sewer safety boundaries
Do not use jetting as a blind solution for every blockage. Unknown pipe condition, fragile or damaged piping, roots, collapsed lines, traps and inaccessible branches can require inspection or professional drain equipment. Keep hands and body away from high-pressure jets, depressurize before changing nozzles, and never withdraw a jetter nozzle from the pipe while it is pressurized.
General Pump's sewer-nozzle documentation also calls for primary pressure regulation/unloading and a secondary pressure-relief device in high-pressure systems.

Match the kit to your machine GPM/PSI, hose length/diameter, pressure rating, inlet connection and a correctly sized sewer nozzle before comparing packages.

Frequently asked questions
Can I turn a pressure washer into a sewer jetter?
Some pressure washers can power a compatible jetter hose and nozzle, but the machine flow/pressure, hose rating and length, nozzle total orifice, connections and drain application must all be appropriate. A pressure washer fitted with a hose and nozzle is not automatically equivalent to a purpose-built professional sewer jetter.
What GPM do I need for a pressure washer sewer jetter?
There is no single universal minimum. Purpose-built drain jetters and sewer nozzles are offered across different flow bands. Pressure-Pro currently lists compact Pro-Jet drain cleaners from 3 GPM at 2400–3200 PSI through 4 GPM at 4000 PSI, while industrial systems can use much higher flows. Match the nozzle to the actual machine flow and pressure.
How do I choose a sewer jetter nozzle size?
Use a manufacturer nozzle chart or the standard nozzle relationship to determine the total nozzle-size class from machine GPM and working PSI, then select a sewer nozzle whose published total size and inlet match. Do not divide the total size equally among individual forward/rear jets unless the nozzle manufacturer explicitly specifies that method.
What is the difference between a penetrator and flusher sewer nozzle?
General Pump documents penetrator-style sewer nozzles with a forward jet plus rear jets, while flusher-style nozzles use rear-facing jets to propel the hose and move loose debris. Rotating nozzles are another separate style. Choose the nozzle pattern for the drain task and machine capacity.
Is a 100-foot sewer jetter hose the same as a pressure washer hose?
No. Jetter hose is selected for pushing through drains and is commonly smaller and more flexible than ordinary pressure-washer hose. It still needs the correct pressure rating, diameter, length and threaded ends. Pressure-Pro, for example, publishes 1/4-inch 4400-PSI jetter hose options in 50-, 100- and 150-foot lengths.
